OKLAHOMA JOE’S SMOKERS
THE BRIEF
The Variable approached Kings & Queens to produce a social campaign for Oklahoma Joe’s Smokers, bringing the brand’s products into a lifestyle-driven world built around food, outdoor cooking, and the people who make it.
With production taking place in Scottsdale, Arizona, the project required K&Q to build and manage a local production team in a different market while maintaining the creative and production standards expected by the agency.
THE SOLUTION
Kings & Queens produced the Scottsdale production in partnership with The Variable, handling the production locally while The Variable led the creative and post-production.
The campaign was designed to create a library of social-first photography and video assets that could live across Oklahoma Joe’s digital channels.
THE APPROACH
This project marked an important evolution for K&Q: Thomas Stroud wasn't on set.
Instead, K&Q built a trusted team around the project and brought on Jasmin Rojas to produce and run the production in Scottsdale, giving her ownership of the local shoot while K&Q remained responsible for the production company role.
It was a practical test of something central to the K&Q model: the right production company doesn't need its founder standing on set for every frame. It needs the right people, clear communication, strong preparation, and trust in the team executing the work.
The result was a production that allowed K&Q to operate seamlessly in another market while giving The Variable a reliable production partner on the ground.
